Nationwide League: Hollins is new Rochdale boss
Former Chelsea, QPR and Arsenal star John Hollins has been appointed as the new manager of Third Division Rochdale.
Hollins was sacked by Swansea in September but will take over at Spotland from caretaker David Hamilton, who will become first team coach, with Jamie Hoyland reverting to youth team coach.
Rochdale have offered Hollins a contract until the end of the season, and he was introduced to his players at training today.
His appointment comes one month after Steve Parkin left the club for Barnsley, with assistant Hamilton guiding Rochdale to just two wins from seven matches since his departure.
Club spokesman Stuart Ashworth confirmed: ‘‘The club will appoint John Hollins as manager on Wednesday.’’
