Champions League: Real in easy win over Panathinaikos

Real Madrid recorded their second win of the second phase in this clash with Greek side Panathinaikos.

The game was played at a very slow pace with Madrid playing a patient, passing game while Panathinaikos kept plenty of men behind the ball.

After numerous missed chances the Spanish side finally took the lead after Ivan Helguera controlled Zinedine Zidane’s cross and fired home on 41 minutes.

Raul scored twice after the interval. Firstly he headed home on 66 minutes and followed this by slotting home a rebound after the Greek keeper Antonios Nikopolidis failed to hold a Luis Figo freekick, 11 minutes later.
