Premiership: Grabbi happy at Rovers

Corrado Grabbi insists he wants to stay at Blackburn, even though he is being widely tipped to return to Italy next month.

Napoli and Bologna are interested in signing Grabbi when the Italian transfer window opens in the next few weeks and have made enquiries with Blackburn.

Rovers boss Graeme Souness, who paid Ternana £6.75m for Grabbi in the summer, has admitted the Italian has had problems settling in England with his young family and is prepared to do business for the right money.

However Grabbi claims he is happy at Ewood Park and that his injuries have been his only problem.

Grabbi has been repeatedly injured and lately he has been sidelined through a combination of a knee problem and illness.

He said: "I want to stay here because I have very good supporters, very different from Italy, and the supporters stay with me all the time.

"When you have five injuries in two months it is a problem because you don’t feel good and you stay home all the time.

"When you have five injuries it is very difficult. In my life I have never had five injuries in two months and I’ve never had five injuries in one year.’’

Grabbi, who has managed just one goal in 10 appearances for Rovers, dismissed claims he did not like living in Lancashire.

"There’s no problem with the rain," he said. "It’s stupid when they talk of the rain and there’s no problem with the rain, the sun, the house or the garden.

"I want to come back and I want to play."

It remains to be seen, though, if Grabbi will be as committed to Blackburn if Napoli, Bologna or another Italian club make a firm offer for him over the coming weeks.
