Manchester United's David Beckham heads a contingent of 15 of the FA Barclaycard Premiership’s brightest stars who have been put on the short-list of nominations for the European Footballer of the Year award.

Fifteen of the FA Barclaycard Premiership’s brightest stars have been put on the short-list of nominations for the European Footballer of the Year award.

At the head of the list is England captain David Beckham, who has fired himself back into the international spotlight with a string of excellent performances for his country, including scoring the goal against Greece which sealed England’s qualification for next summer’s World Cup finals.
