Premiership: Crunch time for Akinbiyi

Leicester’s £5million striker Ade Akinbiyi is set to make an

announcement on his future today.

Akinbiyi’s former club Wolves want to lure him back to Molineux

initially on-loan with a view to a permanent move just over a year

after selling him to Leicester.

Akinbiyi’s agent Andrew Mills expects a statement to be issued today

after talks with City boss Dave Bassett.

Mills said: ‘‘There are signs that the Leicester boss Dave Bassett still

wants Ade. But in the end we will do what is best for Ade.’’

Wolves’ manager Dave Jones warned at the end of last week that he was

not prepared to let his interest in signing Akinbiyi drag on indefinitely.

But Wolves’ desire to take Akinbiyi on loan first could be a stumbling

block and Mills added: ‘‘We are not 100% sure that the loan deal being

proposed for Ade would be a good deal for him.’’
