Premiership: Witness in Leeds' players trial saw men kick body

A 22-year-old female witness has told the Leeds United footballers' trial how she watched in horror as one of the attackers bit the victim's cheek as he lay senseless on the ground.

The witness, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she saw a "huge brawl" going on.

She added as Asian youths scattered five white men carried on kicking the man on the floor.

Leeds United players, Jonathan Woodgate, 21, and Lee Bowyer, 24, are alleged to have taken part in the attack on 21-year-old university student, Sarfraz Najeib.

Mr Najeib was left with a fractured leg and cheekbone. Both players along with co-accused, Paul Clifford and Neale Caveney, both 22, deny grevious bodily harm with intent. The incident happened on January 12 last. The trial continues.
