World Cup: McCarthy and Ferguson to discuss Keane injury
Irish manager Mick McCarthy will contact Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson later today to discuss Roy Keane’s knee injury.
There are fears that Keane could be out of action of for up to a month, which would see him sidelined for Ireland’s two-leg World Cup play-off next month.
McCarthy, who is currently in Abu Dhabi to watch Ireland’s opponents in the play-off, is desperate for Keane to play some role in the games. He hopes to name his squad later this week ahead of the first leg in Lansdowne Road on November 10.
