Middlesbrough 2, Sunderland 0 (latest)

Middlesbrough's Paul Ince has been sent off in the derby game against neighbours Sunderland at the Riverside.

Ince was shown a direct red card for retaliating following a collision with Ireland striker Niall Quinn.

Quinn was booked for his part in the scuffle.

Franck Queudrue scored the opening goal on his home debut to put Middlesbrough into the lead.

The Frenchman - on loan from Lens for a year - struck in the second minute.

Less than 20 minutes later, Alan Boksic had doubled their lead.
