Soccer: ITV’s ‘The Premiership’ moved to later time slot
ITV will move their Premiership highlights programme ‘The Premiership’ to a new 10.30pm time slot from November 17.
The programme has suffered poor viewing figures thus far in its present prime-time slot of 7pm on Saturdays.
A repeat of the show will also be aired at 9.25am on Sundays.
Presenter Des Lynam had been critical of the internal discussions to move the show and he said he was ‘‘disappointed’’ by the latest decision.
However he indicated today that he is to continue with the show.
The final early evening screening of The Premiership will be screened on November 3 and the following week the ever popular Blind Date will make a return to screens during the vacant slot.
The first edition of the football show at its new time will be on November 17, and taking a leaf out of the BBC’s Match Of The Day scheduling, it will get a Sunday morning repeat, at 9.25am.
