Southampton today confirmed Gordon Strachan has been appointed as manager in succession to the sacked Stuart Gray.

Garry Pendrey, who worked with Strachan at Coventry City, joins Southampton as first-team coach following the termination of the contracts of Gray and Mick Wadsworth.
