Eircom League: Rovers held to scoreless draw

Rovers duly extended their lead at the top of the table to five points but not in the fashion they would have wished from this scoreless draw.

In a dreadfully poor first-half Rovers' Stephen Grant brought the only save from John Connolly on 33 minutes.

Dundalk did have the ball in the Rovers net minutes later but Martin Reilly's

effort was ruled out for offside.

Reilly then wasted the best chance of the second-half seven minutes from time

when he over ran the ball from Jonathan Prizeman's through pass.

Rovers had Shane Robinson sent off for a second bookable offence in the final

minute of a match that is best forgotten.
