SPL: O'Neill defends Advocaat after 2-0 defeat

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has jumped to defence of his rival at Rangers after further calls for his resignation.

Rangers boss Dick Advocaat is under pressure following his side’s 2-0 defeat to Celtic in the Old Firm derby yesterday.

However, O’Neill has said the race for the Scottish title is by no means over yet and admitted that the tables could turn if Celtic’s fortunes change.

"We’re managers and we know the pitfalls," O’Neill said.

"I think he’s a top-class manager and he’s proved that. One week it will be him under pressure and the next minute it will be myself, so as managers we know precisely what each other is going through."
