Soccer: Bohs win to go top of league
Bohs hit Monaghan for three and go back to the top of the Eircom Premier League.
Bohemians 3 Monaghan United 0
Monaghan's miserable start back in the Premier continued as they found
themselves 2-0 down after 17 minutes as Bohs jumped back to the top of the
table.
Fergal Harkin collected Glen Crowe's pass to shoot them in front on 12
minutes.
Five minutes later Crowe found the net with a simple tap-in after Trevor
Molloy's shot was parried by Robbie Forde.
Dave Morrison added the third goal on 72 minutes following a Harkin corner.
Longford Town 2 Dundalk 2
Eric Lavine scored twice for ten-man Longford but it was enough to give
them a win they deserved.
Lavine gave Town an 11th minute lead. But Jonathan Prizeman levelled ten
minutes later when chipping over Stephen O'Brien.
Town played the whole second-half without striker Keith O'Connor who was
sent-off on 44 minutes for a second bookable offence.
Lavine then restored Town's lead with a super goal on 76 minutes.
But a defensive blunder allowed Martin Reilly time and space to volley home
a David Crawley cross for Dundalk equaliser four minutes from time.
St. Patrick's Athletic 2 Bray Wanderers 0
St. Pat's bounced back to winning way with a deserved victory over
struggling Bray who slumped to a third successive defeat.
Paul Osam made a telling return from injury, heading home a Martin Russell
free-kick for the lead on 45 minutes.
Osam then set-up Ugandan international Mbabazi Livingstone who drilled home
the second goal from 20 yards in the final minute.
