Finidi George insists the hustle and bustle of life in the Premiership holds no fears for him following his £3.1m switch to Ipswich.

The former Real Mallorca player was granted a work permit in order to play for the Uefa Cup hopefuls at Sunderland on Saturday and despite a last-minute hitch over personal terms he agreed to join the Blues.

"Ipswich played well last season but I want to help them achieve even more," the 30-year-old Nigerian winger said.

"I like the pace and aggression of the Premiership, as I think I have both these qualities about me."

Town boss George Burley added: "Finidi is a world class player and has shown throughout his career he can compete.

"He has tremendous skill, great pace and works very hard, so he should do well for us."
