Soccer: George signs for Town

Ipswich Town have finally completed the £3.1m signing of Nigerian winger Finidi George.

The former Real Mallorca player was granted a work permit in order to play for Town at Sunderland on Saturday.

And despite a last-minute hitch over personal terms he agreed to join the Blues.

George, 30, a former European Cup winner with Ajax, goes straight into the squad for Town's Premiership opener at the Stadium of Light.
