Israeli club Maccabi Haifa, Liverpool's opponents in the Champions League third qualifying round, are being investigated by UEFA for allegedly fielding an illegal player in the qualifying round.

Haifa fielded the player, who was banned for two matches, in last night's 4-0 win over Finnish outfit FC Haka, which sent them into the next round.
