Premiership: Lizarazu wants to sign for United

Bixente Lizarazu has issued a "come-and-get-me" message to Manchester United.

The French international has told Bayern Munich he wants to quit the European champions and move to Old Trafford.

According to reports, the 31-year-old defender said: "I will have negotiations with Bayern next week because I still want to go to Manchester United.’"

Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld immediately slapped a £25m price-tag on Lizarazu, meaning he will cost more than the British record fee United are poised to spend on Lazio midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron, who will be unveiled at Old Trafford later today.
