Premiership: Hadji's Villa move in the balance
Mustapha Hadji's proposed move from Coventry City to Aston Villa is in danger of falling through due to a cash dispute.
Villa are keen to sign the Moroccan international midfielder in a player-plus-cash swap deal with Villa striker Julian Joachim moving to Coventry as part of the deal.
But the two clubs have not been able to agree on the cash settlement part of the deal with Villa offering £1m and Coventry seeking £3m.
Villa's deputy chief executive Mark Ansell said: "If the terms remain unacceptable to us then the deal will disappear.
"John Gregory's interest remains. But the situation is that Hadji is an older player and older players come on different terms."
Joachim has already held talks with Coventry to discuss his part of the deal, but the transfer now rests on the two clubs reaching a compromise agreement on the cash payment.
