Sir Bobby Charlton believes Sir Alex Ferguson will remain at Manchester United once his contract as manager runs out next year.

Sir Bobby Charlton believes Sir Alex Ferguson will remain at Manchester United once his contract as manager runs out next year.

Ferguson announced last Friday he wouldn't stay at Old Trafford as the club hadn't offered him a suitable post.

Speaking in Monte Carlo, Charlton, a United director and ambassador for the club, believes Ferguson will reconsider.

The club's directors were due to discuss who would take over as manager towards the end of the year, but the events of the past week appear certain to bring those talks forward.
