Soccer: UCD and Athlone battle for Premier spot

UCD travel to St Mel's Park this evening hoping to secure their eircom premier division status in the first leg of this year's promotion/relegation play-off.

Opponents Athlone Town missed out on automatic promotion having been 11 points clear earlier this year.

But with just two wins from their last six games, they were pipped to the runners-up spot by Dundalk.

The Students meanwhile finished third from bottom in the Premier ahead of Finn Harps.

Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
