Premiership: United set to land van Nistelrooy

Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Ruud van Nistelrooy from PSV Eindhoven this weekend.

Old Trafford officials were in Holland on Friday putting the finishing touches to an £18m deal for the 24-year-old striker.

And PSV president Harry van Raay said: "We are in talks and expect to have the deal done this weekend."

United agreed to buy Van Nistelrooy for £18.5m a year ago, but the transfer collapsed when the Dutch international suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury which ruled him out of action for 10 months.
