Champions League: Mystery fan stars in United team picture

A mystery fan appears to have pulled off the ultimate cup stunt by sneaking into Manchester United’s Champions League team picture.

The faces of the multi-millionaire Red Devils line up show the pressure they were under moments before their clash with Bayern Munich.

But on the extreme left of the picture stands an Eric Cantona lookalike who appears not have a care in the world.

That’s because his improbable plan to stand alongside his heroes seems to have worked a treat.

The impromptu new signing clearly has not affected the concentration of goal king Andy Cole, who was standing right next to him.

Its only United captain Roy Keane who seems to have realised the team has one extra player - the picture shows the midfielder looking somewhat bemused.

Those with an eye for detail will see the fan has not even got the right kit on.

His shorts bear a red badge different from the colour on the real professionals’ kit.

Whoever he was, his place in United history has been guaranteed.
