Soccer: Hoddle in talks, Spurs confirm

Tottenham have confirmed they are in talks with Glenn Hoddle.

The former White Hart Lane midfielder has quit as Southampton manager.

And he is ready to take over as boss of Spurs, who sacked former manager George Graham nearly two weeks ago.

A statement from Spurs read: "The board of Tottenham Hotspur plc confirms that, following the consent of Southampton Football Club, discussions are taking place with Glenn Hoddle to become the football manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. A further announcement will be made when appropriate."
