Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy labelled skipper Roy Keane "the best in the world at what he does" after the Manchester United star scored twice in a 4-0 World Cup rout of Cyprus.

Keane scored twice to embellish his 50th international appearance and McCarthy said: "He was immense, but it is just what we have come to expect from him.
