Soccer: Van Hooijdonk back for Holland

Pierre van Hooijdonk's has been recalled to the Holland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Portugal.

The striker moved to Benfica from Vitesse Arnhem last summer and coach Louis van Gaal said: "In Portugal van Hooijdonk is an authority. That is a psychological advantage."

Inter Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf is a surprise exclusion from the squad of 21 with a lack of regular first-team football at the San Siro costing the former Ajax man his place.

Three English players make the squad, Manchester United defender Jaap Stam, stuttering Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Sander Westerveld, who will once again act as understudy to first-choice keeper Edwin van der Sar.
