Premiership: Anderton set for contract talks

Tottenham are set to open talks with Darren Anderton over an extension to his contract.

Director of Football David Pleat has confirmed talks will commence within the next fortnight.

Anderton complained recently no new offer had been forthcoming from the White Hart Lane club.

Pleat said: "We will be talking to Darren, he knows he will be offering him an extension to his contract - certainly beyond a one-year agreement.

"Darren knows that, his agent knows that and we will be looking to sit down within the next 14 days to have deep and thorough talks."
