Eighty footballers are to have their passports examined by police following claims that clubs could be fielding illegal players.

The cases of Newcastle United’s Nolberto Solano and Arsenal’s Tomas Danilevicius and Edu have come under the spotlight in recent weeks.

According to The Guardian the following players all have dual nationality, although there is no suggestion that they are playing in this country illegally:
