Gabriel injury adds to Arsenal’s defensive woes

Arsenal’s defensive crisis worsened in Sweden as centre-half Gabriel was stretchered off late in the 3-2 win over Manchester City with what appeared a serious leg injury.

Sergio Ageuro gave City a first-half lead in Gothenburg, but second-half goals from Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Chuba Akpom put Arsenal clear before Kelechi Iheanacho pulled one back near the end for Pep Guardiola’s side.

But Gabriel’s injury overshadowed a positive Arsenal attacking effort.
