Hero Irish keeper admits he closed his eyes on winning header

Afterwards, the former Ireland U21 international admitted it wasn't quite a precision header:

"The last few times I've gone up I stand in front of the 'keeper and make a little movement.

"I've got nowhere near it, so I thought, you know what, I'll just go in and try and cause a bit of havoc.

"As soon as the ball was played, I realised there was no one with me and I thought I've got a chance here. I closed my eyes and headed it and hoped for the best."

"I thought about doing a Klinsmann but the pitch is too dry and I'll end up hurting myself so I just jumped. I might be a bit embarrassed when I look back at the celebration, but I couldn't care less. it was an unbelievable feeling."
