With Leicester top, Arsene Wenger recalls Nantes’ run to title

On Thursday morning, Arsene Wenger let out a rare public expletive. 

He wasn’t referring to the breaking news coming from Stamford Bridge, however, but instead a private conversation he had 21 years ago.

The Arsenal manager had been asked whether he had ever seen a situation like Leicester City’s surge this season, and pointed to Nantes in the French league in 1994-95, when Wenger was still coach of Monaco.
