Premier League veteran Micky Adams ready for a new challenge at Sligo

On the day the Premier League kicks off in England, a former Premier League manager will be taking his first bow in the Premier Division in Ireland, as Micky Adams gets down to business at Sligo Rovers.

“We have a big game on Saturday against Cork,” says the latest Bit O’Red boss, who has described his new post as “a challenging job”.

In a long and varied managerial career, the 53-year-old ex-Southampton player has reached the heights of the Premier League with Leicester City and plummeted to the low of being unable to keep Tranmere Rovers in the English league last season. But the SSE Airtricity League will definitely be a new experience for him.
