Scottish League Cup final: Celtic 2 Dundee United 0

Celtic target treble

Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen has targeted the treble after helping Ronny Deila’s side to a first Scottish League Cup success in six years with a 2-0 win over 10-man Dundee United.

It was Deila’s first trophy since taking charge of Celtic in the summer, with goals from Kris Commons and James Forrest easing the Hoops to victory

Commons gave Deila’s men the lead before Dundee United captain Sean Dillon was sent off 10 minutes into the second half for a dangerous tackle, and substitute Forrest doubled the lead, before he later missed a penalty.

Deila admitted Celtic and Scotland captain Brown’s midweek antics were “not a positive example” after the midfielder was pictured slumped in the street after a night out in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

DUNDEE UTD: Cierzniak, Dillon, Morris, Fojut, Dixon, McGowan, Butcher, Paton (Erskine 72), Rankin, Dow, Bilate (Anier 59).

CELTIC: Gordon, Ambrose, Denayer, van Dijk, Izaguirre, Brown, Biton (Henderson 82), Commons (Forrest 69), Johansen, Stokes, Griffiths (Guidetti 69).
