Ahead of an important meeting on the future of Ferrycarrig Park tonight, Wexford Youths insist that there is no danger of the club not being able to play their SSE Airtricity League First Division fixtures on their home ground this season.

The stadium itself went into receivership two seasons ago and, tonight in Enniscorthy, Wexford League club delegates will hear of a proposal to secure the ground’s long-term future, based on investment by the FAI as well as the league itself.

FAI chief executive John Delaney will address delegates at the meeting in the Riverside Park Hotel, which will also be attended by TD Mick Wallace, the man who founded Wexford Youths and funded the development of the Ferrycarrig complex.
