Alan Pardew believes an extended FA Cup run can breed a “winning mentality” to boost Crystal Palace’s Premier League relegation battle.

New boss Pardew took charge of Palace for the first time after leaving Newcastle in yesterday’s 4-0 third-round FA Cup victory at Conference club Dover.
