Media reflect on a ‘failed experiment’

“The end of a totally failed experiment,” says Germany’s main football paper Kicker and their verdict more or less sums up the European reaction to Manchester United’s decision to part company with David Moyes.

“He should definitely have got a year,” Kicker told its readers, but “it has been a disastrous season of negative records... Under the leadership of the long-time Everton coach United ran from one low point to the next.”

After “a season of terror” the decisive factor from the German point of view was the “worrying trend of recent weeks with the team at no time showing a flicker of an upward trend”.
