Axed boss was ready to bring in five top stars

Former Ireland U21 international Michael Keane is adamant his long-time friend David Moyes will bounce back from his ‘harsh’ sacking by Manchester United.

Keane has kept in close contact with the Scot since playing under him at Preston North End in 2000 and says the 50-year-old is devastated to have his time at Old Trafford cut short.

From their recent conversations, Keane gleaned that Moyes was planning to overhaul an ageing United squad this summer by recruiting five top-class signings.
