Poor David quickly slips into past – now it’s all about the future

It is fitting, in this period surrounding Holy Week, that as I write these words at teatime on Tuesday, I feel in cosmic communion with United fans across the world.

For I know they will all have spent the day doing exactly the same thing as me: frenziedly gossiping, madly speculating, and furiously arguing.

There’s nothing like a managerial change to get the fan juices flowing, and we’ve now had two in 11 months. Why, it’s been so stimulating, I’m already looking forward to the next one, in January 2015.
