Hull determined to get Long

The Tigers held fresh negotiations with West Brom Sporting and Technical Director Richard Garlick yesterday, with the Humberside club said to be prepared to pay a fee in the region of €£6m – with add-ons — for the 26 year old striker.

Officials at the KC Stadium are said to be increasingly confident they will finally land a player who has been a long-time target of manager Steve Bruce but, with the clubs having come close to agreeing terms before – only for the projected deal to run into the ground – other interested parties, Stoke City and Newcastle United among them, are keeping a close eye on proceedings.
