Big guns will come in for Suarez

Steven Gerrard fears Liverpool could still struggle to keep striker Luis Suarez at Anfield long-term even though he was made captain for the 5-0 victory over Tottenham and his goals have made the club title contenders.

Big guns will come in for Suarez

Suarez’s two goals at White Hart Lane have taken his tally to 17 for the season and underlined why Liverpool were so desperate to keep him at the club when Arsenal and Real Madrid were vying to sign him last summer.

Gerrard, currently out injured for a month with a hamstring injury, said: “On current form he’s the best player in the world. We need to enjoy him while we’ve got him because if he carries on like that the big guns will come in.”
