Two halves to poppy story

Republic of Ireland international striker Shane Long has used his Twitter account to hit back after he was accused of not wearing a poppy on his shirt for West Bromwich Albion’s clash at Chelsea last weekend.

Long’s shirt had a poppy on in the first half but didn’t in the second.

Albion midfielder Chris Brunt changed his shirt at half-time and confirmed that a poppy had only been printed on one of the shirts.
