Bray without O’Connor for first leg of play-off

Bray Wanderers skipper Danny O’Connor, who sat out Friday’s defeat by Dundalk with a groin injury, will once again be absent when the seasiders face Longford Town in the first leg of the Airtricity League Premier Division/First Division play-off at the Carlisle Grounds tonight (7.45pm).

To provide cover for players who picked up knocks in Friday’s game, Sean Hurley, Sean Noble, Michael Brown and Adam Cox have been added to the squad for tonight’s match.

Bray manager and Director of Football Pat Devlin said he was disappointed with the result against Dundalk. “We played very well for the first half hour or so and once again didn’t take our chances and after that our play fizzled out,” he said.

Now, Bray must regroup and prepare for what will be two tough games in five days against a Longford side who had to come from behind against Mervue United before claiming their promotion/relegation play-off place in a dramatic penalty shoot-out in front of a big crowd at the City Calling Stadium on Friday.
