Bohs sack boss Callaghan

Troubled Airtricity Premier Division side Bohemians last night sacked manager Aaron Callaghan.

Bohs sack boss Callaghan

Callaghan has paid the price for the Gypsies’ precarious league position, as they sit just one place off the bottom following last Friday night’s 3-0 drubbing at Dundalk.

The board of directors met last night and came to the decision. “The club has reached this stage with much regret,” said Bohemians president Matt Devaney. “Aaron has made a great contribution to all facets of Bohemians in his 18 months with us.

“But following a run of disappointing results it was clear some change was needed. We are looking for an injection of new ideas and new urgency.”

Bohs assistant manager Owen Heary assumes the responsibility of caretaker manager with immediate effect.
