Dunne out of Ireland’s summer internationals

Richard Dunne has been ruled out of the upcoming four internationals against England, Georgia, the Faroe Islands and Spain.

Dunne has not played since last summer’s European Championships — undergoing three operations to cure hip and groin problems — and Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has revealed the defender won’t be fit for the forthcoming internationals.

Lambert, who also disclosed that Dunne will only be offered a new deal at Villa Park when his current contract expires this summer if he can prove his fitness.
