Neil Lennon says he knew he would be sacked as coach of Celtic if they failed to have a good season this year.

The Bhoys are 15 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League and later this month take on Juventus for a place in the Champions League quarter-finals — but without Rangers for competition, Lennon knew there would be even more pressure on him.

“Without Rangers, we are in a situation where people expect us to win it. And if we do not win, it’s a disaster: goodbye Lennon,” he said.
