Bramble’s heroics save Sunderland

Sunderland 0 Swansea 0

The Black Cats were grateful to Bramble for a superb block in the last minute of added time which prevented Danny Graham, Black Cats’ boss Martin O’Neill’s prime target for what remains of the winter transfer window, getting a shot on goal.

“I have to say it was a fair result,” O’Shea said. “Swansea had two of the clearest chances. We could have been better going forward and both teams cancelled each other out, but it was a great tackle from Titus which stopped Graham getting the winner.”

SUNDERLAND: Mignolet, Gardner, Bramble, O’Shea, Colback, Johnson (Wickham 84), N’Diaye (McClean 66), Vaughan, Larsson, Sessegnon, Fletcher.

SWANSEA: Tremmel, Tiendalli, Williams, Chico, Davies, Dyer, de Guzman, Britton (Graham 75), Hernandez (Lamah 66), Shechter (Ki 60), Michu.

Referee: Andre Marriner (W Midlands).
