Wenger’s long-term view still rosy

As bad as results get and as much as the pressure grows, it is remarkable how rarely Arsene Wenger let’s it affect him.

Had any other manager, not least Alex Ferguson, been asked about one of his players questioning the team’s belief as Theo Walcott did, it would likely have been met with anything ranging from an icy stare to a volcanic denial.

Wenger, however, leaned back and acknowledged the truth of Walcott’s comments — especially after Arsenal’s early collapses against Manchester City and Chelsea.
