Vomiting bug lays Rodgers low for QPR clash
Rodgers felt so ill yesterday morning that he didn’t even travel to Loftus Road, leaving his assistants Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh in charge.
In fact, Pascoe also showed symptoms of the illness and was banned by the club’s medical staff from entering the away dressing room at half-time in case he passed it to his players.
“It was this morning (Sunday) when Brendan decided he couldn’t make it,” revealed Pascoe. “I wasn’t feeling very well myself, but he was worse than me. He was so bad that we had a driver to take him back home.
“But the way the medical team and doctors tried to isolate the players and the staff, they’ve been fantastic. Hopefully they’ll have nipped it in the bud.
“I communicated with notes before, during and after the match — I gave them to Mike Marsh who went in and gave them some instructions at half-time. They wouldn’t let me into the dressing room just in case.”
