Olivier Giroud has admitted he has joined Arsenal at the wrong time in the club’s history.

The Gunners striker, who was bought from French champion Montpellier to replace Robin van Persie last summer, has also asked his team-mates to cross the ball more from wide areas so he can play to his strengths.

Giroud, who has scored seven goals and created another six in 21 appearances this season, added that Arsenal’s squad being weaker than in the past reduces the pressure on him to perform.
