Spurs hold off Reds’ charge

Both men in the dugouts had carved out reputations as thrusting young coaches at Chelsea under the Special One and Tottenham, having decided to jettison Harry Redknapp, had considered hiring Rodgers earlier this year before Liverpool did so.
