The French Football Federation has banned midfielder Yann M’Vila from the national team until the end of June 2014.

His crime?

Going to a nightclub along with several other members of the U21 squad in between two play-off games for the 2013 European Championship. Although four others also left their Le Havre training camp in the early hours for a Paris nightclub, M’Vila’s experience — with 22 full caps — made him the senior player in the squad.

Previously, the 22-year-old, who a been a target of several European clubs including Arsenal, was suspended by for one match after refusing to shake the hand of coach Laurent Blanc and substitute Olivier Giroud when he was taken off against Spain during the Euro 2012 in June.
